Excerpt from Chapter: “Make It or Break It”

The day had finally arrived. Tonight would be the premier of ‘Woofside Story.’ I woke up with butterflies flitting around so strongly in my tummy that I thought if I sneezed one might actually fly out of my nose. The house had been abuzz for the last several days preparing for my big night. Emily had made us all new outfits; she had her own line about to premier at ‘Needless Bark-Up,’ the top shopping store in Eternity, and hoped that some of us might be photographed in her new designer threads. Rocky was in such phenomenal shape that he was praying he would get noticed at the premier and perhaps meet someone who would help him promote a new exercise video that he was working on. Eloise had volunteered to work in canine security for the night, making sure no doggies stars were injured if the crowds of autograph hounds got out of control. Bandit had expanded his cheese store to include a catering company, and was excited that he had been chosen to cater the event. And Rover was thrilled that a premier meant free movie, free popcorn and a free after-party. It appeared that everyone in my group had a personal reason to be thrilled for my movie premier and I couldn’t be more excited for all of them. We were a team, a family, and now in the early stages of becoming—unbeknownst to us at this time—the somewhat famous Group of Six.
